GROW Distinguished Speaker Series

We are pleased to announce that as of this year (2008), GROW will organize a seminar series called the GROW Distinguished Speaker Series (GROW DSS). The aim of the series is to create a high-quality scientific format with talks that are of relevance and interest to all GROW scientists and to generate a regular meeting and interaction platform for scientists in- and outside GROW.

Dr. M. van Engeland and Dr. W. Voncken act as coordinators of the GROW DSS.

The research groups participating within GROW were asked to respond by proposing one candidate who matches the criteria below.

  1. Invited speakers will be internationally acknowledged leaders in their research area/topic;
  2. A distinguished speaker has published scientific work of high significance over the last 3 years (indicator impact factor; internationally highly-referenced journals like Nature, Science, Cell);
  3. Topics should be of interest and relevance to all GROW research groups and research lines;
  4. Speakers may be national or international.

The deadline for proposing candidates for the year 2008 has been closed and the schedule of selected speakers will soon be available on this website.

All GROW researchers are invited to propose distinguished speakers; these will be considered for next year (2009). Please provide:

  1. Name(s) speaker(s)
  2. Affiliation
  3. Motivation choice (3 lines max)
  4. Overview publications last 3 years
  5. Fits within which GROW research area?
