The two-year GROW master program offers an unique opportunity for students with a bachelor degree to acquire basal research skills in biomedicin as well as novel scientific insights and expertise in the field of normal and abnormal development of cells, tissues and the organism as a whole. Students are exposed to different laboratory environments and will participate in biomedical training in the fields of, amongst others, developmental biology, pathology, oncology, genetics and cell biology. Relevant to their future professional training and career, students will have the opportunity to set up a research plan in a grant style, and execute their own research plan within the framework of the research performed at your host laboratory. The direct interaction with senior researchers, coaches and tutors during the practical training periods, will be pivotal for your individual development as a scientist.
The Oncology and Developmental Biology master program is part of a two-year full-time official research masters program, embedded in the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, School for Oncology & Developmental Biology of Maastricht University Medical Centre, the Netherlands.
The GROW master program is internationally oriented, as all courses are given in English. An exciting opportunity within the ODB master is international exchange with the universities of Paris, Barcelona, and Lisbon. More information on this international master network can be found below and at this site: http://lmd-biodev.snv.jussieu.fr/master_inter/mi_organisation.html
The GROW master program leads to a competitive master's degree (Master of Science, M.Sc.), which will enable graduates to obtain a position in relevant fields of biomedical research.
