GROW Grant Applications

Procedure for approval of grant applications within GROW

Within GROW it has been decided to introduce an internal review procedure for grant applications. The purpose is to improve the success rate and the quality of such applications.

Procedure

Stage 1:

6 weeks before the external deadline a short project description (2 A4) must be submitted to the internal review committee. Based on this project description the committee will grade your project with a:

-   "Go with no/minor revisions": go to stage 2
-   "Go with delay" (e.g. additional preliminary data required): submit in next call
-   "No Go" (e.g. no fit within strategy GROW): project will not be submitted

Stage 2:

Submit a full grant application to the internal review committee 3 weeks before the external deadline. The committee will review the full grant application within 1 week:

- "No Go": submit in next call
- "Go with significant revisions": submit in next call
- "Go with no/minor revisions": go to stage 3

Stage 3:

Submit the corrected version according to suggestions by the internal review committee. The final decision of the committee is received within 2 working days.

Grant proposals which have not been reviewed by the internal review committee will not be supported by GROW.

Grant applications and contracts should always be approved by the Scientific Director of GROW, Prof. dr. F.C.S. Ramaekers.

If a financial paragraph is requested GROW’s financial managers S. Satijn or J. Doomen should also give their approval.

Grant applications and contracts should be submitted at least 2 weeks before the deadline at the GROW office, so a check of the content and the financial paragraph can be performed.

The in the grant applications mentioned managing director is prof. dr. F.C.S. Ramaekers and not the Head of the Department of the applicant.
