NWO has a cooperation agreement with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), which provides various opportunities for doing research in Japan. - Cooperation South Korea (KOSEF) continuous application
NWO has a cooperation agreement with the Korea Science and Engineering Foundation (KOSEF), which offers Dutch researchers a chance to perform research in South Korea. In case of a jointly organised seminar applications can be submitted for a contribution towards the costs. - Cooperation Taiwan (NSC) continuous application
NWO has a cooperation agreement with the National Science Council of Taiwan (NSC), which offers Dutch researchers a chance to do research in Taiwan. In case of a jointly organised seminar applications can also be submitted for a contribution towards the costs. - NWO has a cooperation agreement with the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), which offers Dutch researchers a chance to do research in China. (NSFC expressly requires that the working visit to China is part of a research programme subsidised by NSFC.)
Who can apply:
Highly qualified Dutch researchers in the exact, biological, technical and medical sciences connected to a Dutch scientific institute.
What can be applied for:
International and local travel expenses and accommodation costs of a short-term fellowships (1 to 3 months).
Contribution towards the costs for the organization of a seminar.
When can be applied:
Applications can be submitted continuously. Decisions on an application take four to six months.
Selection Criteria:
Important selection criteria are: scientific quality, originality and relevance; the quality of the research team; feasibility; urgency.
