General Information

Research program

The Oncology Division incorporates research projects conducted within the Faculty of Medicine, the University Hospital of Maastricht and the MAASTRO Clinic. The aims of this division are on the one hand to gain insights into the basic biology of the cancer process, and on the other to develop new therapeutic strategies based on concepts developed in the laboratory. The rational development of new treatments, therefore, involves the close collaboration between basic scientists and clinical researchers. Three major research lines can be distinguished within the Oncology Division in which several research groups are working.
